Allison and Nate have to be some of the warmest, kindest humans I've ever met. I felt like part of the family the entire day and to call this work is so humbling. Every part of the day was so comfortable and laid back. We were welcomed by a Spice Girls dance party when we arrived at their cute home where the girls were getting ready. We made our way with Allison to their first look at Nate's beloved old truck, parked with views of Mt. Rainier. We drove through back roads and pulled over to run through the streets and climb through the forest. At their ceremony, we drank local beer and threw the cans in the backs of trucks. Kids ran through fields picking wildflowers and creating bouquets in beer cans. Everyone cried, especially Nate. His parents made dinner for everyone there, and jars of pickles straight from their garden for us to take home. We ended the summer night running through the streets with sparklers, happy as can be.
I can't think of a way that this day could have been more perfect. Usually something goes wrong at a wedding, it's inevitable. If anything did that day, it went unnoticed. It felt like there wasn't a care in the world, just pure joy and love and celebration. It was one of those days of clarity where my whole being rejoiced because this is why I do what I do.
